Search Engine Optimization

I am staying in Mumbai city from India. I have completed my graduation and now working as search engine optimizer in Convonix(SEO Company).

Search engine optimization is a process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines. SEO is a waiting game. Every search engine has a unique algorithm. Each search engine has a different system of applying algorithm to websites. If Google is ranking one keyword, yahoo might not rank the same keyword.

INITIAL SITE ANALYSIS

1. Content

2. Menus & Navigation

3. Simple Sitemap

4. Heading Tags

5. Hidden Text and Links - Check if the site has hidden text or links on its pages. If they exist, remove them. This is considered as spamming by search engines and the site might be banned.
Frames - If a site is built in frames, remove them from the pages. Removing frames helps the pages to index much better in search engines.

6. Javascript/CSS in source code - If the source code contains long Script/CSS, make it external and include a reference from that page. This helps spiders to move through the source code easily.

7. Redirects - If the root domain or inner page of a site is redirecting, remove that redirect. Redirects can affect your search engine rankings.

8. Duplicate Content - If your site home page/inner pages has content similar to some other site (duplicate content), make sure you rewrite the content on your site to make it unique.

9. Dynamic URLs - If a site has dynamic URLs (i.e. having ?, =, & in them), make them static using URL rewriting technique as search engines take a long time to index dynamic URLs.
